Among Chiara Arturo’s latest productions, “Lo guarracino” is inspired by the famous eponymous Neapolitan song from the late eighteenth century. The Tarantella-rythmed song is about loves and quarrels among fishes. The story, however, has no end; it interrupts suddenly, leaving us dry-mouthed and unsure about its true meaning. To understand it, it takes imagination or, as the artist says "you have to dream-work". This enchanting, poetical series visually translates the elusiveness of the text, focusing on the ripples of the surface of the water: a whole world moves beneath. We can feel it, but we cannot see it clearly, or fully grasp it.
