Gian Butturini began his career as a graphic artist by joining in the '60s the Art Directors Club in Milan, achieving many awards before the Royal Palace, then in Pallanza, Gardone Riviera, Toronto, Ontarlum Museum, Warsaw, Paris, Germany.
In 1970 made his masterpiece photographic work in London. It was released a book of great success, "London by Gian Butturini".
In 2016 Martin Parr selected some photos, taken from the reportage "London by Gian Butturini", for the exhibition at the Barbican Centre in London curated by Martin Parr itself. Besides him, the sole Italian, were presented works of 22 other top photographers including Henri Cartier Bresson, Tina Barney and Bruce Gilden.
Gian Butturini leaves us on September 29, 2006.
His archive is carried out by Marta and Tiziano, his children, who also incorporated the Associazione Gian Butturini.
