IMMAGINARTI ISOLA.
FOTOGRAFIE DI CHIARA ARTURO Opening : September 18, 2020 September 18, 2020 - now on Bottega di Gandria Debarcadero SNL 6978 Gandria Lugano Heillandi is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Immaginarti Isola. Photographs by Chiara Arturo", which will take place in Lugano, at the Bottega di Gandria, on 18th September from 6.00 pm. The exhibition, open to the public until 30 October, is curated by Chiara Finadri, and realized in collaboration with Heillandi, Bottega di Gandria, VivaGandria and Città Di Lugano. The works exhibited in the waterfront location of the Bottega di Gandria evoke a complex and stratified landscape. In this 2020 marked by distances and closures, a meaningful collaboration sprouted from afar, with the desire to overcome them. By belonging to a common ideal archipelago and through the exchange of texts, maps and pictures, of today and yesterday, emerges a work that questions the bristling and separating contours of the lands, their relationship with the waters and opens white page windows on the future and on elsewhere. Chiara Arturo lays a tactile gaze on surfaces and landscapes, diluted by filters and everyday atmospheres, which reveal their subjectivity. Her photography questions perception and the creative process, together with crossings, boundaries and encroachments. SHOP THE EXHIBITION Visiting hours: Everyday open : 9 am - 7 pm |

LONDON EYE Opening : November 30, 2-7 pm November 30, 2019 - March 9, 2020 Heillandi is delighted to present "London Eye", the first solo of the Italian artist Andrea Tonellotto in Switzerland. Known for pure shapes and the silent, suspended atmospheres of his snapshots, Tonellotto achieves a new joyous and fascinating rhythm in the fresh series of works, inspired by the vibrant city of London. Born in 1974 near Padua, he lives in Piazzola sul Brenta. His photographs have been published by important international magazines and exhibited in Italy and abroad. In 2018, he published his first book "Just a Perfect Day". His works are part of the SpallArt Collection in Salzburg and other prestigious private collections.
OPERE IN MOSTRA |

Details of gestures and bodies hidden or lit up in a continuous succession of lights and shadows that move and revive them like "a group of figures, playing as dramatic actors in a an erotic ensemble that still wants to dance and make its voice heard.

PESERICO DECLARED, “IT IS AN HONOUR FOR US TO AWARD ARTISTS LIKE MARGOT ERRANTE, A REMARKABLE TALENT WHOSE PROFOUND MULTI-DISCIPLINARY CULTURAL EXPERIENCES ENABLE HER TO INTERPRET A NEW WAY OF EXPRESSING CREATIVITY, WHICH IS OF OUR TIME.” This foreign body is my own body. And it is yours. We have as many layers as shedding trees. Sometimes peeling is a natural process, other times it is caused by injury or disease. When bare wood is visible, the tree is suffering from severe damage. At times, in that area, the bark will never grow back. I found my very self on a sleepless night of 2015. Since then, I feel the urge to destratify humanity to see what's left. Of you, and of myself. ME |

M I N D S C A P E S | Margot Errante
Opening Reception: 14th June 2019 6:30pm - 9:30pm Venue: Sala Bianca of Teatro Sociale, Como, Italy Exhibition: 15 June - 15 July 2019 www.salabiancacomo.com June 15-30: Mon-Sun 10am-8pm | July 1-15: Mon-Sun 10am-6pm Heillandi Gallery, in collaboration with The Società Palchettisti of Teatro Sociale di Como, is pleased to announce M I N D S C A P E S — a new photo exhibition by Italian artist Margot Errante. Shot between 2018 and 2019, M I N D S C A P E S is a long search that Errante summed up in a series of ten large size images, resulting from the digitally manipulated composite of multiple photographs that the artist took in Como and in her erratic life. The integration and stratification of different geographies forged the creative process that led to the shaping of these surreal landscapes. As French philosopher and psychoanalyst J.-B. Pontalis once said: “It takes many places within us to have any hope of being ourselves”. In Errante’s mindscapes the volumes, spaces and historical buildings become formal elements compressed between the verticality of an adolescent dream of elsewhere, and the stable horizontality of a new adult awareness. The conventional perception of architectures is transposed into a new and alienating vision, through a manipulation that clearly rejects the idea of a faithful representation of the landscape, typical of traditional photography. The artist herself admits:“I've never been interested in things as they appear because their intrinsic nature is invisible to my naked eye. I can't see the atoms, so to speak. I can see the surface of what surrounds me, but being the brain the one to elaborate the definitive image I can’t trust my eyes. We tend to think of reality as a fixed and objective construct, the truth is that the space we see is us”. As curator Alessia Locatelli describes: “M I N D S C A P E S is the positive celebration of an osmotic being, capable of an exchange with the spaces and environment that it inhabits”. |
